The Medical Centre serves as the hub for all medical services within the College, offering a comprehensive range of healthcare facilities and services to meet the needs of the college community. The Centre is structured into four primary departments, each dedicated to specific aspects of medical care:

  1. Medical Director’s Office and Medical Records Section: This department oversees the overall administration of the Medical Centre and manages the systematic documentation and maintenance of patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.

  2. Medical/Pharmacy Department: Comprising both medical and pharmacy units, this department is responsible for patient consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and the dispensing of medications. It ensures that patients receive appropriate medical care and pharmaceutical services.

  3. Nursing Services Department: This department provides comprehensive nursing care, including patient assessment, monitoring, and support. Nurses play a crucial role in patient education, wound care, immunizations, and assisting in various medical procedures.

  4. Radiology/Laboratory Department: Equipped with diagnostic tools such as X-ray machines and laboratory facilities, this department conducts various tests and imaging services to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Services Offered:

  • Out-Patient Care: Patients receive medical consultations and treatments without the need for overnight hospitalization.

  • Emergency Services: Immediate medical attention is provided for urgent and life-threatening conditions.

  • Observation Wards: Patients requiring short-term monitoring are accommodated in observation rooms equipped with multiple beds.

  • Diagnostic Services: Comprehensive laboratory tests and radiological imaging are available to aid in diagnosis.

  • Pharmacy Services: On-site dispensing of prescribed medications ensures timely access to necessary drugs.

  • Preventive Care: Services such as immunizations and health education are provided to promote wellness and prevent diseases.

In cases where specialized or advanced care is required, the Medical Centre has established referral agreements with secondary and tertiary health institutions, including the Lagos University Teaching Hospital and the 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Yaba, Lagos. This collaboration ensures that patients have access to comprehensive healthcare services beyond the scope of the Medical Centre.

As the College continues to grow, the Medical Centre is committed to expanding its services to include advanced diagnostic capabilities, obstetrics and gynecological care, public health initiatives, social welfare services, and dental clinics. Additionally, a sick bay has been established at the Epe Campus to cater to the health needs of students and staff in that location.

The Medical Centre is staffed by a dedicated team of medical and paramedical professionals, including doctors, nurses, medical laboratory scientists, and radiographers, all working collaboratively to provide high-quality healthcare services to the College community.
