American Polytechnic of Nigeria Begins Inaugural Session, Partners with Lewis University

The American Polytechnic of Nigeria (APN), Ibadan, proudly announces the commencement of its inaugural academic session for the 2024/2025 academic year on May 26, 2025. This milestone marks a significant step in the APN’s mission to provide world-class technical and vocational education in Nigeria.

As part of its commitment to excellence and global educational standards, APN has established a strategic partnership with Lewis University, Romeoville, Illinois, USA. This collaboration enables students enrolled in select programs at APN to participate in a 2+2 dual-degree program. Under this arrangement, students will complete a National Diploma at APN before proceeding to Lewis University to earn their Bachelor’s degree. This initiative presents a substantial cost-saving opportunity, with an estimated reduction of $22,000 per year in tuition expenses for participating students.

Admission into APN is now open for both full-time and part-time students. Prospective students are encouraged to update their Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) – UTME school choice to American Polytechnic of Nigeria, Ibadan, to secure their placement. Relevant details can be accessed through the institution’s official website at www.apn.edu.ng.

In furtherance of APN’s commitment to accessible education, the President of APN, Dr. Oludare Akande, OON, has announced a NGN 1 billion scholarship fund through the Dr. Oludare Akande Foundation’s Scholarship Program. Eligible students will have the opportunity to apply for scholarships of up to N200,000 per year toward their academic pursuits. The scholarship will primarily be need-based while also serving as a reward for outstanding academic performance. The scholarship portal will officially open on April 14, 2025.

Speaking during his working visit to Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, Dr. Akande emphasized the importance of this partnership in providing Nigerian students with access to internationally recognized qualifications and a competitive edge in the global job market.

“We are committed to equipping Nigerian students with the knowledge, skills, and global exposure necessary to thrive in the modern economy. This partnership with Lewis University ensures that APN students can seamlessly transition into a world-class educational system while significantly reducing their financial burden,” said Dr. Akande.

Prospective students and parents are encouraged to explore APN’s wide range of academic programs and scholarship opportunities. For more information, please visit www.apn.edu.ng or contact the admissions office via admissions@apn.edu.ng.
