The Academic Staff Personnel Department is dedicated to managing all establishment matters concerning academic staff within the College. Its primary responsibilities include:

  1. Establishment Matters: Overseeing all establishment-related issues pertaining to academic staff, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and procedures.

  2. Promotion Processes: Administering the Academic Performance Evaluation Report (APER) forms during promotion exercises, facilitating the advancement of academic staff based on merit and performance.

  3. Policy Implementation: Planning, interpreting, and executing approved establishment rules and regulations to maintain a consistent and fair working environment.

  4. Budget Preparation: Compiling annual estimates and personnel budgets for academic staff, ensuring accurate financial planning and resource allocation.

  5. Committee Support: Providing secretarial services to the Appointments and Promotions Committee, including organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting proceedings.

  6. Correspondence Management: Handling various correspondences related to appointments, confirmations, transfers, deployments, interviews, and disciplinary actions concerning academic staff.

  7. Advisory Role: Offering general assistance and undertaking ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Registrar and the Rector, contributing to the overall administration of the College.

  8. Progress Reporting: Preparing annual progress reports detailing the activities and achievements of the Establishment Department concerning academic staff, providing insights for continuous improvement.

By effectively managing these functions, the Academic Staff Personnel Department ensures the professional development and welfare of academic staff, thereby contributing to the institution’s mission of academic excellence.
